New Tech is built on a foundation of trust, respect, and responsibility, so as you can guess being a student at the school you possess a lot of responsibility. We are aloud off campus, we don't need hall passes and in general are allowed a lot more freedom than others attending high school, and in return we are to be responsible with those privileges.
But to me being a New Tech student means something more. I knew even before I came here that New Tech just seemed different both academically -and not because of the project based learning- and socially. And after spending several weeks here I think I have figured out what that difference is, and its the students. Most of them. It doesn't just feel like the school crammed a bunch of hormonal teens into classrooms, it feels like a community of accepting people (including the staff members) who want to grow and learn. And I personally don't know whether its just the "type"of people New Tech attracts, or if the people here are responsible and know to respect others I'm still figuring that out, but I have four more years for that... but I do know that I think I made the right choice in coming here.
